April 8 - April 12

Dear Parents I hope you all enjoyed your weekend! We would like to thank each one of you who came to our Science Fair last Friday. Our little scientists had a great time explaining the scientific method to all of you.

The CEPUDO Tote bags went home last Friday for those of you bought them. We encourage you to use the weekend to have your child involve family and friends to help out with this great project. CEPUDO donates new and slightly used newborn baby clothes (pajamas, blankets, socks, onesies, and hats) and newborn essentials (diapers, wipes, shampoo, lotion) to new mothers at Hospital Materno Infantil. When you receive your tote bag, feel free to fill it up with as much as you like. Return the tote bag to school by Wednesday April 10th. The totes will be donated to CEPUDO and they will distribute them.
If you did not get a Tote Bag but would like to get one send Lps. 100 by Monday.

Our Easter party will be on Wednesday, April 10th. We are requesting for each child to bring 12 plastic eggs. Please send them to school if you have not done so. Also, for this celebration each child should bring their own basket. Our Easter Celebration will be at school. We are planning a variety of fun activities for the children to enjoy. Water Games are going to be part of the fun! On this day we are requesting for you to pack an extra set of clothes, water games, sunscreen, cap, and a towel. One of the activities we are planning to do is to dye some eggs with the children. For this, we need your contribution. Please send 5 BOILED eggs on Wednesday April 10th. We are sure that the children will enjoy painting their own eggs.

This week your child will be reviewing all the Word Walls with various chants and activities. The spelling challenge will be on Friday, April 12th. The five new words that we will be introducing this week are:

land
different
home
us
move

We will continue our unit on Fairy Tales. We are also going to continue learning about Fables. We will be identifying the message or moral of them and what are some of their characteristics. Children are writing their own versions of well-known fairy tales. After our Easter Break we are going to make groups to give some fairy tales a twist. The children are having a lot of fun reading and watching different versions of them.

In Math we are going to continue learning about Measurement. We are going to focus in length and height. The students will be measuring different objects using non-standard units of measurement.

We would like to wish everyone a Happy Easter. Enjoy your long break and be safe. We will see each other again on Tuesday, April 23rd.
