April 16-20

Dear Parents,

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend.

To wrap up our unit, the children came up with a different version of very well known fairy tales. They have been working very hard on putting them together by creating scenery and role-modeling. For this reason we would like to invite you all this Friday, April 20^th to see these wonderful presentations. We will be presenting them to you at 8:15 a.m. If you can join us, we would really appreciate if you can come on time. 

This week your child will be inquiring into the following:

This week your child will be reviewing all the Word Walls with various chants and activities. The spelling challenge will be on Friday, April 20^th.

This week we are going to be working with two-digit subtractions. Please practice with your child at home and emphasize that they ALWAYS need to start with the digits in the ones place.  

In Reading we are going to continue reading about Nate the Great. The children are having such a great time acting out like detectives to solve different cases. They are making very good predictions about the story.

In Science we are going to start our new unit about Space Sytems. This week the children will be learning about the sun and the moon.

It is the hot season in Honduras. Please make sure that your child brings a water bottle to school every day. It would be great if you can send them with sunscreen too.
