April 9-13

Dear Parents,

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. Thank you parents for all of the support you gave your child with their booklets. They had such a great time reading their creations to the little kids. All of their stories were amazingly creative!!

This week your child will be inquiring into the following:

This week your child will be reviewing all the Word Walls with various chants and activities. The spelling challenge will be on Friday, April 13^th.

This week we are going to continue with two-digit addition and subtraction. Please practice with your child at home and emphasize that they ALWAYS need to start with the digits in the ones place. 

In Reading we are going to start with a new book. We are going to be reading about Nate the Great. The children will be doing predictions about the story. They will be identifying the characters, the setting, the problem and the solution.

In our writing, children will continue working in groups and will finalize their own version of the fairy tale they are writing. Once they finish we will devote this time to practice their story and to start working on their props.

It is the hot season in Honduras. Please make sure that your child brings a water bottle to school every day. It would be great if you can send them with sunscreen too.
