We hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving weekend!
Don't forget to send in your 5 lbs of sugar. These food items are part of the Christmas food baskets given to our support staff.
Songfest will shortly be upon us. This wonderful presentation is going to take place on Friday, December 8th at 8:30 a.m. in our school gym. The students will perform Frosty the Snowman song. I am sure that you already got organized and have the dress code ready for the children to use on that day.

Our
class Christmas celebration will take place on Friday, December 15th. We
will celebrate this day by enjoying our annual gift exchange, watching a movie,
and having Christmas breakfast and lunch.
The
students may come dressed in their pajamas, Christmas hats and bring their favorite
stuffed animal.
The first grade gift
exchange is a tradition in our class and we hope to have everyone participate
this year. We ask that you buy a gift that would not be more than 200
Lps. Please bring the gift wrapped and labeled with GIRL (if you have a girl) or BOY (if you have a boy). These gifts will be numbered. Your
child will pick a number out of a hat and they will get the present with the
corresponding number. Please note that your child may or may not get the gift
you bought.
Please do not
show your child the gift since we want this to be a surprise for them. Please
send this gift as soon as possible.
On Friday, December 1st we would
love to decorate our Christmas Tree. Please help us decorate our tree by
sending in at least 2 ornaments! Please label these ornaments with your child´s name. If
you have any lights that you would like to share with our class please send
them in. We will return all the decorations in January.
We are
requesting L. 200.00 for December activities. This will cover the following:
the Christmas craft to take home, Santa’s contract for one day at school, and
Santa’s picture with frame. This money should be sent to school by Monday, December 4th.

This week your child will apply concepts of
addition and subtraction throughout the chapter. They will learn how addition
and subtraction are related. They will also learn how to identify and use
related facts. We are going to have Chapter 4 Math Test on Thursday, November 30th.
For Discovery School, it is very important to teach our students about
sharing and helping others. Angelitos Del Dia is a perfect way to help show our
kids just how easy this can be and how we can make a difference in our
community.
"Angelitos del Dia" helps newborn babies born at Materno
Infantil Hospital here in Tegucigalpa. They provide moms with newborn
essentials (blankets, pajamas, socks, hats, wash cloths, towels, diapers, baby
wipes, baby soap and baby shampoo).
Your child took an empty bag home last week. Please feel free to donate
as many items as you wish by placing them in the bag. A great way to get your child involved is to
go through their baby clothes and have them choose items they would like to
donate. Xtra and Emporio are also great places to shop
for baby items. Please feel free to donate as many items as you wish.
Send the bags back in by Wednesday, December
6th. Thank you!!
