Dear Parents,
I hope the long weekend was an enjoyable one for everyone!
A big thank-you to all the
parents, our Valentine's Day was sensational! Everyone loved the snacks,
treats, and lunch!
Please remember that your child
needs to return his/her progress report, signed, to me as soon as possible. If
any parents are having difficulty reading the MAP report, please feel free to
make an appointment with me so I can better explain it to you.
This week, your child will be
inquiring into the following:
Language
Arts
Phonics- This
week we will not introduce any new words. Your child will be learning reviewing
words through various chants and activities.
Reading- This
week the class will continue to read and learn more about Abraham Lincoln and
George Washington. You may also want to check out these websites. They contain interesting
information.

Writing- Students will finish up their
informative piece about a president of their choice.
Math- The
class will be finishing up Chapter 8. We will review the skills taught in this
chapter and have our assessment on Thursday. There are no new skills for
IXL. Your child can review and redo the past
week’s skills.
Social Studies- This
week the class will be learning about Cardinal Directions and will demonstrate
their understanding of the Cardinal
Directions through a “Scavenger Hunt”

TERM AND MAP REPORTS- Please
sign and return the Midterm for the third quarter that were sent home last
Friday, February 7
CHANGE
IN MOVIE DATE AND TIME FROM DPTO – In order to offer” The Lego
Movie” to our school community in English, the DPTO has moved the date for the movie to Sunday, February 23 rd,
at the same time 11:00 a.m. The current Tickets work for this day. Once again,
the DPTO apologizes for this inconvenience and hopes to see you at the theatre
then!
