Week 3- August 20th-24th

Dear Parents,

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
We would like to say a BIG 'Thank-you!" to all the parents who came to the Open House last Thursday. We forgot to mention one important detail about the first grade, which is the Spelling Challange. Your child will be given 5 new words every week to learn (meaning and spelling). These words will be reviewed in class. On Fridays, your child will be given a spelling challange. Please review these words with your child at home. These words can be found under the Language Arts heading, in the Phonics area.
We would like to remind all parents to please pay the $100 classroom fee as soon as possible if you have not done so already. Also, please make sure that you have labeled all of your child's personal possessions with a permanent marker.
Last, there will be an Eco-Friendly lunch on Friday, August 24th. Both students and teachers will be challenged to bring a waste free lunch. If you would like ideas on how to pack your child a waste free lunch, please visit the website at the bottom of the blog under the 'Links' heading.
