September 24 - 28

Dear Families,

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend! We have important information on this blog so please check every Monday and read through everything.

The October Holidays will be from October 1st to October 5th! Therefore, there will be no school on these days; school will resume on October 8th.

This Friday, September 28th is a half day for students. Students leave school at 11:45. Teachers have professional development after lunch.

This Monday, September 24th, we will start with our Reading MAP Test. Please make sure your child gets a good night’s rest as well as a healthy breakfast for them to be ready to take the test.
We invite you to visit www.nwea.org so you can have more information about what MAP is all about!

Students will be reviewing all the word wall words we have studied up to this point through various activities and chants. The spelling challenge will be on Friday.

This week we will be introducing the following sight words:

Your child will continue writingopinion pieces. This week your child will write about their favorite zoo animal. They will provide reasons for this and provide an opening and closing sentence.

This week, your child will continue and develop their skills in subtraction. We finished our chapter last Friday. For this reason, we are going to have a review on Monday September 24th. We are going to have our second Math Test (Chapter 2) on Tuesday, September 25th
