The students will start reading, Frog and Toad All Year. They will begin with the story, Down the Hill.

This week your child will continue working on learning addition strategies such as adding in any order, counting on, adding doubles, adding doubles plus one /doubles minus one, making ten, adding ten. We will be deciding which one is the best strategy to use to solve addition problems given. We will also continue working with the Associative Property of Addition. We are going to be having a Chapter 3 Review on Wednesday. Our Math Test for this unit is going to be this Thursday, November 9^th.

This week we will continue writing Personal Narratives. The children will be writing about “If I were a Turkey.”

In Science we will continue having fun with our unit Light and Sound.  Thank you to all the parents that sent the 2 styrofoam cups for this week´s experiment.

Last week the first graders had the chance to work with individual white boards. It would be great to have our own in the classroom. For this reason, if you are willing to donate some to our class, we would really appreciate it. Here is a list of some things that you can help us out with. This is voluntarily.
