October 2-6

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend!

The October Holidays will be from this Wednesday October 4th to October 6th! Therefore, there will be no school on these days; school will resume on October 9th.

This month your child will have the opportunity to purchase books through the International Scholastic Book Clubs. This is an optional activity offered by the school, in case you want to motivate your child to read at home and to increase their own library. With you purchase, our library will accumulate points to redeem for more books for the benefit of you children in our school. The due date to purchase the books online is October 9th. The books will arrive to the school in one single delivery, and we will distribute them to the students according to their orders, approximately three weeks after the purchase due date.

This will be a very short week. We will devote this week to practice everything we have learned so far in First Grade. On  Tuesday October 3rd we will have a Birthday party please do not bring lunch.

Students will be reviewing the word wall words we have studied up to this point through various activities and chants. There will be no spelling challenge due to the short week!
Please make sure your child can recognize ALL of the following sight words. The children will be assessed in these 65 sight words for the first quarter of their report card.
