Week November 7 - 11


We hope you enjoyed your weekend!!

This week your child will be inquiring into the following:

This week your child will be reviewing all the Word Wall words with various chants and activities. The spelling challenge will be on Friday this week! 
 Spelling words:   may, than, first, water, been,


The students will continue reading, Frog and Toad All Year. They will read the stories, "The Corner" and "Ice Cream". 






This week, your child will learn more about poems with alliteration. They will create 
their own alliterative poems. 





The students will continue learning about weather
We will be studying about temperature and clouds. 



This week your child will be having a Math test on Tuesday, November 8th. The rest of the week we will focus on making a general review of what we have studied in First Grade up to now.

Monday
Reading: Read for 10 minutes and fill in the reading log.
Math:  Study for Math Test
Tuesday
Reading: Read for 10 minutes and fill in the reading log.

Reading:Read for 10 minutes and fill in the reading log.
EspaƱol: Worksheet

Thursday
Reading:Read for 10 minutes and fill in the reading log.
Working With Words:   Study for spelling challenge.




For Discovery School, it is very important to teach our students about sharing and helping others. Angelitos Del Dia is a perfect way to help show our kids just how easy this can be and how we can make a difference in our community.
"Angelitos del Dia" helps newborn babies born at Materno Infantil Hospital here in Tegucigalpa. They provide moms with newborn essentials (blankets, pajamas, socks, hats, wash cloths, towels, diapers, baby wipes, baby soap and baby shampoo). 
Your child will be taking an empty bag home this week. Please feel free to donate as many items as you wish by placing them in the bag. Send the bag back by November 28th.
