Week 24 February 8-12

Dear Parents, 
We hope you enjoyed your weekend! 


We will be celebrating Valentine's Day on February 12th. Please create your own Valentine mailbox. There are great ideas on Pinterest. If your child will be sending Valentines, please remember to include all 20 students. Class list will be sent home this week. 

Progress reports will be sent home on Friday, February 12th. Conferences are on a need-to-meet basis. If you would like to schedule a conference, please let us know. Please return signed progress reports back on Tuesday, February 16th.  

We will not have school on February 15th because of President's Day. Enjoy your long weekend. 


We would like to ask you for your cooperation. Lately, the first graders have been playing games that are quite physical: play-fighting, throwing rocks and bark. We have talked to the kids about this and would like you to talk to your child about this as well.  

This week your child will be inquiring into the following: 

Language Arts
Word Wall- This week your child will be reviewing all the Word Walls with various chants and activities. The spelling challenge will be on Friday, February 12th.

Vocabulary: name, good, sentence, man, think, why


Reading: For this week, we will learning about George Washington for President's Day.  

Writing: Continuing our President's Day unit, we will write an informative text on George Washington.  

Science:  We will continue our unit in Solids and Liquids. Students will be comparing the different properties of liquids. 

Math- This week your child will learn more about comparing numbers.

For Everyone: 

SENIORS BAKE SALE – The Seniors will be having their traditional Valentine’s Day Bake Sale on Friday, February 12. They will be selling delicious treats during snack and lunch. Students may also begin to pre order roses, candy grams, and love notes. The seniors have the pre order forms and they will be handing them out to all students. The last day to pre order will be Tuesday, February 9.


 
DPTO BINGO – We would like to invite all our school community to join the DPTO in a wonderful night of great food, awesome prices and lots of fun. The Bingo will take place on Friday, February 19 at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are L200 and can be purchased from any DPTO member or Ms. Gaby is in the office.



For Early Childhood:

Wolves Art and Book Clubs for Early Childhood, beginning February 1, and will take place Monday through Thursday from 3:15-4:15 p.m. The monthly cost per club is Lps.600.00. After school transportation is available at an additional monthly cost of Lps.500.00. The Art Club will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays, and the Book Club will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays.     For Middle and High School

VALENTINE’S DAY BALL (for grades 6 – 12 ONLY) – The Senior Class will be hosting a school dance on Friday, February 12 from 7:00 pm – 10:30 pm. The entrance fee will be of Lps. 150 and it will include the entrance to the dance, dinner (3 tacos and 1 gringa), and 1 refreshment. Tickets will be sold on the day of the event. School and parental supervision will be provided. Formal attire is required. A parents’ lounge will be available in the Information Center for parents who wish to stay and wait for their child.
