October 27-29, 2014

Dear Parents,

I Hope you enjoyed your weekend!
It was a pleasure meeting with all of you at conference time. If you have any questions or comments about your child’s report card or MAP results please contact me so we can meet.

There is no school on Thursday 30th and Friday 31st. Classes resume on Monday, November 3.

All the parents are invited to stay and partake in the annual U.N. Day celebrations here at school starting at 8:30a.m. on Wednesday. This is a very fun and exciting day for all, where parents and children get together to learn about new cultures. The grade 1 students displayed informational texts about what they learned about the United Nations. They are displayed in the office, make sure to stop by and check it out. This is also a half day. All students will be going home at 11:45 a.m.

'Book Character Day' is not too far away. I would like to remind you that your child will be encouraged to come dressed like his/her favorite book character on Tuesday, October 28th. Your child must also be ready to present his/her costume and book to the class. Lower elementary will be having a costume parade starting at 8:15.
Please, remember to send your candies for the trick or treating.

If you would like to help, you can send these items in with your child.

This week your child will be inquiring into the following:

Word Wall- This week your child will be reviewing all the Word Wall words with various chants and activities.

Suddenly, the wind picks up and blows away the witch's hat, then her bow, and then her wand!  Luckily, three helpful animals find the missing items, and all they want in return is a ride on the broom.  But is there room on the broom for so many friends?  And when disaster strikes, will they be able to save the witch from a hungry dragon?
