Week 31-April 1st-5th

Dear Parents,

We hope everyone had a very relaxing and fun break!
The end of the year is quickly approaching us and we would like to remind everyone that, although there are only a couple months left of school, there is still much work to do. It is important that your child comes to school every day with a good nights sleep, a water bottle filled with water, and a healthy snack and lunch.
This week, your child will be inquiring into the following:

Language Arts
Phonics- This week's words are well, large, must, big, and even. Your child will be learning these words and reviewing older words through various chants and activities.
Reading-This week the students will be focusing on identifying the main idea of a folketale and 2 fables.
Writing- The class will learn how to stay focused on a topic when writing.

Math-The class will be starting a new chapter this week, Time. The students will be exploring the minute, the hour and parts of a clock.

Social Studies- The class will be inquiring into the location of the school, their neighborhoods, communities, city, state, and country. The students will be examining a the location of Honduras and their location within the country. You can help your child by teaching him/her the name of his/her neighborhood.

Homework

Wednesday
Reading-Read for at least 10 minutes and fill out the reading log
Math- More/Less a Minute worksheet
Phonics- Crossword Activity

Thursday
Reading-Read for at least 10 minutes and fill out the reading log.
Math-What Time Is It? worksheet
Writing- Contraction Activity
*There is no spelling challenge on Friday, April 5th.
