Week 13- November 5th-9th

Dear Parents,

We hope that everyone had a great long weekend and are ready for another exciting week!
We would like to remind all parents to read all the special teachers' blogs, as well as the administration blog. Each blog includes important information about your child's learning and the school.
The Language Arts Festival Committee will be selling minutas (slushies) this Friday.
This week your child will be inquiring into the following:

Language Arts
Phonics-This week's words are two, more, write, go, and see. Your child will be learning these words as well as reviewing older words through various chants and activities. It would benefit your child to review these words daily.
Reading- This week your child will be exploring how to use pictures to aid in comprehension, use context clues to help understand new words, retell the story in his/her own words and predict the next events in the story.
Writing- Your child will be learning how to write a complete sentence. Your child will be inquiring into the subject/verb agreement.

Math-Your child will be learning about related facts, the fact family, the inverse relationship between subtraction and addition, and how to choose the correct operation in a problem solving activity. This is the last week of chapter 4. Next week, the class will be starting chapter 5.

Theme- Science- Your child will be exploring weather this week by learning how to measure different types of weather.

Homework
Monday
Reading- Read for at least 10 minutes and fill out the reading log. It would benefit your child if an adult would ask some comprehension questions after the reading. There is a Reading Comprehension Question page attached  to the blog to help you.
Math-Using Related Facts worksheet
Phonics- Write this week's 5 words in ABC order

Tuesday
Reading-Read for at least 10 minutes and fill out the reading log. It would benefit your child if an adult would ask some comprehension questions after the reading. There is a Reading Comprehension Question page attached  to the blog to help you.
Math-Fact Family worksheet
Theme- Dress Jordan and James activity

Wednesday
Reading-Read for at least 10 minutes and fill out the reading log. It would benefit your child if an adult would ask some comprehension questions after the reading. There is a Reading Comprehension Question page attached  to the blog to help you.
Math-Using Addition Facts worksheet
Writing- Subject/ Verb agreement worksheet

Thursday

Phonics-Study for the spelling challenge
