We hope you enjoyed your weekend! We have a week with many exciting events!
On Wednesday, December 12th we are going to have “Christmas in Early Childhood.” The children should come to school wearing Christmas attire or with Christmas colors. It would be great if they can bring a Santa´s Hat. The children are preparing a surprise for all of you. If you can join us, this small program will start at 8:15 a.m.
This week we are going to have a Fun Athletic Week. For this, we are requesting the students to dress up with comfortable clothing such as shorts, sneakers, and t-shirts. These activities will take place on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.
The first grade gift exchange is a tradition in our class and we hope to have everyone participate this year. We ask that you buy a gift that would not be more than 150 Lps. Please bring the gift wrapped and labeled with GIRL (if you have a girl) or BOY (if you have a boy). These gifts will be numbered. Your child will pick a number out of a hat and they will get the present with the corresponding number. Please note that your child may or may not get the gift you bought. Please do not show your child the gift since we want this to be a surprise for them. Please send this gift as soon as possible. If one child does not bring a gift we will not be able to do this fun activity.
Our class Christmas celebration will take place on Friday, December 14th. We will celebrate this day by enjoying our annual gift exchange, watching a movie, and having Christmas breakfast. It would be fantastic if the children can have popcorn while watching the movie. Let us know if you can contribute with some microwave popcorn bags and juice. The students may come dressed in their pajamas, Christmas hats and bring their favorite stuffed animal.
We do not have school starting Monday, December 17th. The students will return on Monday, January 7th, 2019
This week Reading will be tied up with Writing. The students will learn about the different winter holidays around the world. We will be learning about Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and Christmas. The children will be writing about these festivals.
This week your child will continue to apply concepts of addition and subtraction throughout the chapter. They will learn how addition and subtraction are related. They will also continue to identify and use related facts. We are going to have a Math Test on Wednesday, December 12th.
We wish you a safe holiday and a happy new year!!!
