May 21 - May 25

Dear Parents,
I hope you all enjoyed your weekend.


It is hard to believe that we only have 2 more weeks to go in First Grade. We will devote these two weeks to review all the concepts learned.

This week your child will be inquiring into the following: 
Language Arts
Word Wall- This week your child will be reviewing all the Word Walls with various chants and activities. Our last spelling challenge will be on Friday, May 25th. These will be the LAST sight words that will be introduced to your child. We are up to 190 words!!! These words are the following:

away
animals
house
point
page



For the remaining weeks in First Grade, we are going to be reviewing the different types of writing learned throughout the year. These include opinion, narrative and informative.


For Reading, we will continue reading the story Frog and Toad Together by Arnold Lobel

In Math, we are going to learn about solid shapes and we are going to be learning about fractions. 

REMINDER: This Wednesday you are all invited to attend Discovery School Spring Concert that will take place at 1:30 p.m. The children will perform a beautiful song called It's a Wonderful World. Girls need to wear a nice dress and boys need to wear black pants and white shirt. 


SUMMER CAMP AT DISCOVERY SCHOOL  - Just like last year, Discovery Zone is back!!! Discovery Zone 9 is a fun, artistic and entertaining camp for children 2 to 9 years old. The camp will run from June 11th to June 29th, with a schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00. Transportation is available at a small additional cost. If you or a relative/friend is interested, more information can be given to you by the accounting offices in school.
