Have a HAPPY THANKSGIVING everyone! Just a reminder, there is no school on Thursday, November 27th and Friday November 28th.
Just a few reminders;

Wednesday November 27th, is a half day. Early dismissal at 11:45.
Progress
reports were sent home last Friday. Please sign and return them as soon as
possible. If I have requested a conference with you, or you would like to
schedule a conference please note that I am available at 7:30 am Mon. -Fri., Just
send me a note letting me know the day and time you will be in.
This week
your child will be inquiring into the following:
Language
Arts
Working With Words: No new words for this week. We will be reviewing past word lists
through various chants and activities.
Reading: We will read the First Thanksgiving. The
students will be recalling
main events and connecting the text to self.
Writing: The
students will write a Friendly Letter.
Math: We will finish Chapter 3 on addition.
Monday:
Reading: Read for at least 10
minutes and record pages read in log.
Reading: Sequencing
of events.
Math: Worksheet
pg. 67-68
Tuesday:
Reading: Read for at least 10
minutes and record pages read in log.
Working
With Words: Write sentences using
opposites
Math: Practice
all IXL skills until now.
Wednesday:
MIDTERM –Midterm Progress reports were sent home last Friday. If
you would like a conference with a teacher, and one has not been requested,
please call the school to set up an appointment at your earliest convenience.
DPTO FAMILY BINGO NIGHT – The DPTO will be
hosting fun filled BINGO evening for Discovery families and friends on Friday,
December 5. Incredible prizes
(i.e. air tickets to Roatan and Miami, a family stay in a beach resort
in El Salvador, paintings, and much more!) are in store for those who attend!
Food and drinks will be available for purchase. Don’t miss out on this
opportunity! Tickets are only L100!
BOOK DONATION -
Amor Fe y Esperanza (AFE) is an organization located on the outskirts of
Tegucigalpa that has been rescuing children from the garbage dump and breaking
the cycle of poverty in their lives. AFE is in the process of furnishing its
library. We are asking for any new or used Spanish books (children’s books,
novels, nonfiction, encyclopedias etc.) you might have and that you would like
to donate to the AFE library. These
books can be brought and given to your homeroom teacher. If you would like more information about AFE,

SONG FEST –
Please mark your calendars for this year’s Song Fest. There has been a change
in time! The performances will begin at 5:30
p.m.
