Dear Parents,
We hope everyone enjoyed their weekend!
This is our last week of school. We are
amazed at how fast the time went by. It was an honor and pleasure being your
child’s teacher this year. We had the immense pleasure of watching them learn
and grow throughout the year. For those of you who are leaving the Discovery
School community we wish you the best of luck on your new endeavors. For those of
you, who are returning, see you next year! To everyone have a safe, fun, and awesome
summer!
You are invited to watch the fairy tales the children have been
working on this
Thursday at 8:15. The plays are short versions of the traditional
fairy tales. We hope you can join us.
If you have any leftover Piñata candy / toys from "goody
bags" that you would like to donate to the class we would really
appreciate it. We will be using it for a fun activity on the last day of
school.
This week your child will inquire into the following:
Language Arts
Working with Words:This week your
child will be reviewing all the Word Wall words through various chants and
activities.

will be reading a non- fiction text about zebras. The students will be using
context clues to define new vocabulary words. They will also be recalling
information from the text and identifying the main idea, as well as answer
questions about key details in the text.
Writing: Students will be
writing an informational text; in which they name their topic, supply facts,
and provide a sense of closure.
Math:This week we will
continue with Chapter 12. Students will learn about equal shares, halves and
fourths.
Social Studies: As a
